I am starting to make a dishcloth. Using the video above I decided to start off with something easy to get the hang of things. At first, I watched the intro of the video to see what I needed. So, I headed over to our local Michaels store and bought knitting needles and yarn. One thing I did not know what that there are different sizes of knitting needles and yarn. There are different sizes to make different things. I went into the store and found the 4 1/2 needles and looked for another five minutes to find the corresponding yarn.
Once I bought the supplies I headed home to start my project. To start off the process I learned how to make a slip knot (0.59) and from there I could start my dishcloth. Then I learned how to cast on (1.28) and this step took me about ten times before finally getting it right. With this process, it was very tricky to start because I am trying to learn something new that my brain does not know and my hands have yet to figure out where they belong. Finally, once I got the hang of it I just need to work on making it bigger. I started off by casting on four stitches and from there I had to work my way up by adding stitches so I end up with 37 stitches on the knitting needle. After getting four stitches I can now start knitting. I use a basic knit stitch (2.59) to get to seven stitches. At this point I am starting to get the hang of it, so it should go a lot smoother I am hoping.

The one thing that I am afraid of is if I accidentally lose all the stitches that are on my needle and then I mess it all up. Stick with me in my journey, and check back in with me once I have reached 37 stitches!
See you soon!
