What I Think About Twitter…

As I am just starting to use and explore Twitter I think it is something I could use to keep me updated on things I am interested in. It is kind of like Facebook and Instagram which I already use. I use Facebook and Instagram as personal accounts. With Twitter on the other hand I am learning how to use it as a professional learning network (PLN). I have used Twitter before and did not like it so I deleted my account, but when I took EDTC 300 course at the University of Regina I had to re-download Twitter and make an account. At first, I was not a huge fan of the idea and to be frank I still am not.

I am not a huge fan of only having so many words on a post. It is very limited and I want to explain and get my point out there. Other than having limited words on a tweet I do not mind using Twitter in a professional development way. I like how I can interact with my peers using #EDTC300 and finding out helpful resources people have found. I also like how I can find almost anything and everything on Twitter. I am starting to get used to using it like Facebook. Even though I would still much rather use Facebook.

Every Thursday at 8PM a SaskEdChat happens. I got to be a part of this SaskEdChat on Thursday, May 12, 2022. During a SaskEdChat someone asks a series of questions for one hour and many educators and others join in on this chat from all over the world. For the first chat I did not speak up much, but I mostly just read the comments and took it all in for the first time. It was a really good experience and I am looking forward to doing it again.
